One of the books I teach out of is John C. Maxwell’s Developing the Leader Within You 2.0. In the very first chapter, John defines leadership as “influence, nothing more, nothing less.” He states that leadership has become so important in today’s world. “Why has it become so important? Because people are recognizing that becoming a better leader changes lives. Everything rises and falls on leadership. The world becomes a better place when people become better leaders. Developing yourself to become the leader you have the potential to be will change everything for you. It will add to your effectiveness, subtract from your weaknesses, divide your workload, and multiply your impact.” The book title alone indicates that becoming a good leader is something we develop and that development can be quickened with some great coaching through John C. Maxwell’s teachings.
