Bill Goodwin: Accepting The Process Of Personal Transformation

Bill Goodwin is a John Maxwell coach and has been helping individuals and organizations develop leadership skills for over 30 years. In this episode of Keep The Change, Bart Nollenberger and Bill Goodwin talk about the process of personal transformation, why it's important, and how to accept it in our lives with grace and hope.

What we discuss in this episode:

Bill recounts an experience he had as a 15-year-old in which he realized he needed to make some changes in his life when his mother caught him both demonstrating behavior (swearing) that was unbecoming of how he was raised and in a lie. He distinctly remembers in that moment deciding that he needed to decide who he wanted to be in life.

Each of us has moments like Bill. Some are more severe, and some are simple everyday experiences that many can relate to. The most important aspect of accepting transformation is realizing that transformation is needed and wanted.

Often we may find ourselves wondering how we arrived at our current circumstances. We may feel the need to ask, "Why me?" Both Bill and Bart discuss the importance of taking ownership over your circumstances so that you can accept that transformation is required. It's not until we desire to transform our lives that true, lasting change can occur.
