Michael Cirillo: Making The Journey Worthwhile

"If it's worthwhile, it should be worth the while." - Michael Cirillo

Michael Cirillo returns for a deeper look into his career journey and the lessons that have helped him enjoy a successful career as the CEO and co-founder of the automotive tech and marketing agency, FlexDealer.com.

How to make the journey worthwhile:

  • Michael points out that anything worthwhile should be worth the while. In other words, a valuable lesson he's learned is that, despite wanting the journey to go faster at times, it has taken the exact amount of time that it needed to take for him to truly grow and learn.

  • It's easy to feel inadequate when contrasted against the perception of success that we're bombarded with online. Someone is always willing to glamourize the journey — a guru only willing to show you the staged photograph of them sitting on the beach. The danger is that the journey rarely looks the way it's depicted. It requires much more hard work, doubt, failure, learning, competition, and discipline. There is no magic bullet to success.

  • Bart asks how Michael sets and achieves goals. Michael speaks to the importance of setting smaller, more achievable goals. In doing so, motivation increases, and he believes that aids in his ability to accomplish the end goals he has set.
